In August 2005, Hawai`i Maoli received a 30-year license from the
Hawaiian Homes Commission for an 11,000 square foot parcel adjacent to
the new Department of Hawaiian Home Lands office in Kapolei. Hawai`i
Maoli in partnership with Chaminade University of Honolulu, have
secured a number of private and government grants to fund this
project. In 2006, the Hawai`i State Legislature appropriated $1
million for this community center. Construction is expected to
commence in 2007.
